The visit request system in CareLog allows family members to request visits with their linked patients.

Visit requests enable:

  • Family members to request patient visits
  • Hospital staff to manage visit schedules

Requesting Visits

For Family Members

  1. Log in as Family Member
  2. Navigate to Linked Patients section
  3. Select the patient you want to visit
  4. Click Request Visit
  5. Fill in visit details:
    • Preferred visit date
    • Time preference
    • Reason for visit
    • Special requirements
  6. Submit request

Visit Request Information

Each visit request includes:

  • Family Member: Who is requesting the visit
  • Patient: Who will be visited
  • Requested Date: Preferred visit date
  • Time: Preferred visit time
  • Reason: Purpose of the visit
  • Status: Pending, Approved, Completed, or Declined
  • Notes: Additional information

Visit Request Statuses

Pending

  • Initial status for new requests
  • Awaiting staff approval
  • Family member notified of submission

Approved

  • Staff has approved the visit
  • Scheduled for specific date/time
  • Family member can proceed with visit

Completed

  • Visit has occurred
  • Part of visit history
  • May include visit notes

Declined

  • Visit request was not approved
  • Reason may be provided
  • Can submit new request if appropriate

Managing Visit Requests

For Hospital Staff (Admin/Nurse)

Review Requests:

  • View all pending visit requests
  • Check patient condition and visiting policy
  • Review family member relationship
  • Assess visit appropriateness

Approve/Decline:

  • Approve suitable visit requests
  • Decline if patient condition requires rest
  • Add notes explaining decision
  • Notify family member of decision

Schedule Visits:
