CareLog's appointment system facilitates scheduling and managing medical appointments between patients and doctors.

Overview

The appointment system enables:

  • Patients to request appointments
  • Doctors to manage their schedule
  • Appointment tracking and history
  • Status management
  • Appointment notes

Requesting Appointments

For Patients

  1. Navigate to Appointments section
  2. Click Request Appointment
  3. Fill in appointment details:
    • Select doctor
    • Choose preferred date
    • Provide reason for visit
    • Add any notes
  4. Submit request

Appointment Request Information

  • Patient: Who is requesting the appointment
  • Doctor: Preferred physician
  • Date: Requested appointment date
  • Reason: Purpose of the visit
  • Status: Pending, Confirmed, Completed, or Cancelled
  • Notes: Additional information

Managing Appointments

For Doctors

View Appointments:

  • See all scheduled appointments
  • Filter by date or status
  • Review appointment details
  • Check patient information

Update Appointments:

  • Confirm appointment requests
  • Reschedule appointments
  • Add appointment notes
  • Mark appointments as completed
  • Cancel appointments if needed

For Patients

Track Appointments:

  • View upcoming appointments
  • Check appointment status
  • See appointment history
  • Review appointment notes

Appointment Statuses

Pending

  • Initial status for new requests
  • Awaiting doctor confirmation
  • Patient notified of pending status

Confirmed

  • Doctor has approved the appointment
  • Scheduled for specific date/time
  • Patient should attend

Completed

  • Appointment has occurred
  • May include follow-up notes
  • Part of medical history

Cancelled

  • Appointment was cancelled
  • Can be rescheduled
  • Reason may be documented

Appointment Workflow

  1. Patient Request

    • Patient submits appointment request
    • Specifies doctor and preferred date
    • Provides reason for visit
  2. Doctor Review

    • Doctor sees pending request
    • Reviews patient information
    • Confirms or reschedules
  3. Appointment Confirmation

    • Patient notified of confirmation
    • Appointment added to schedules
    • Reminder notifications (optional)
  4. Appointment Completion

    • Doctor marks appointment as completed
    • Can add appointment notes
